Melaine “HALO” Valentin is an F-16 pilot with over 1,300 hours of flight time in U.S. Air Force aircraft and the creative force behind Plane Old Art, where she channels her passion for aviation into artwork. As one of just 103 female fighter pilots in the USAF, Melaine is a passionate advocate for representation, inspiring young girls to pursue their dreams in aviation and STEM. Her most iconic design, the “Fly Like A Girl” patch, is worn by female aviators in over 20 countries and celebrates the diversity of women in aviation. It stands as a powerful and tangible piece of representation that not only inspires young girls to see themselves in the patch but serves to educate everyone that there is a place for women in aviation.

With this special edition of the “Fly Like a Girl” patch, Plane Old Art is partnering with The Pink Jet to help support breast cancer awareness while continuing to showcase and celebrate the diversity of women in aviation!
